Beloved reader, I welcome you with warmth as we step together into a gentle exploration of healing.
In my clinic, I once met a young manager whose symptoms—insomnia, migraines, and a constant knot in the stomach—were tangled with conflicts at home and fear about finances. As I, Dr. Ravindranath G — Founder of SaiSankalpam.com — sat with him week after week, we did not start with pills; we started with breath, sunlight, sleep rhythm, and compassionate routines. His headaches eased, his patience with his spouse deepened, his budgeting became clearer, and his enthusiasm for learning returned. That journey reaffirmed a truth I have seen across medicine, parenting, and my spiritual path: holistic health is not just about the body — it is the energetic foundation that supports every other pillar of life.
Here is how I teach it in practice.
Five Pillars of Success, rooted in health – Health: When vitality rises and the mind–body system is coherent, inflammatory noise reduces, HRV (heart rate variability) improves, and we feel emotionally balanced and physically resilient. – Relationships: With a regulated nervous system, patience and empathy become natural; presence replaces reactivity, and home feels safer. – Financial Wisdom: A steady physiology lowers impulsivity; clarity and disciplined choices reduce stress and create sustainable security. – Knowledge: Focus strengthens, memory consolidates better with quality sleep, and enthusiasm for learning flows when energy is stable. – Inner Peace: Through the breath and stillness, we touch spiritual grounding—the quiet confidence that guides loving action.
The T.E.A.R. Formula through a health lens – Thoughts: What we repeatedly think tunes the nervous system. Calm, truthful thoughts reduce sympathetic overdrive and set vagal tone toward balance. – Energy: Coherent thoughts generate coherent energy—steadier heart rhythms, smoother breathing, and stable hormonal signals that calm emotions and physiology. – Actions: From steady energy, discipline becomes kind and consistent; choices align with values without harsh self-judgment. – Results: Over time we harvest well-being—better biomarkers, stronger relationships, meaningful work, and spiritual growth.
Two Triangles that shape your day – Triangle 1: Thoughts → generate → Energy – Triangle 2: Energy → guides → Actions → creating → Results
How the triangles work in real life: – Physical health: Calm thoughts lead to coherent energy (e.g., improved HRV), which guides consistent actions—nutritious meals, walks, sleep hygiene—producing results such as fewer headaches, balanced blood sugar, and better immunity. – Emotional balance: Compassionate thoughts soften inner dialogue, stabilizing energy; actions shift from avoidance to courageous conversations, yielding trust and closeness. – Spiritual depth: Contemplative thoughts (prayer, gratitude, mantra) refine energy; actions reflect service and humility, and results include inner stillness and joy.
As Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba reminds us, “Health is wealth; peace of mind is happiness; yoga is the way.” In modern terms, coherent mind–body practices are not luxuries; they are the operating system for a meaningful life.
Daily techniques I prescribe and practice – Breathing pause for nervous system reset (2–3 minutes): Inhale gently through the nose for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts, then two slow “physiologic sighs” (two short inhales, one long exhale). Science shows longer exhales and sighs increase vagal tone, lowering heart rate and stress hormones. In my experience, this transforms a tense meeting or family moment within minutes. – Mindful meal practice: Sit, breathe, and silently thank the hands that brought the food. Chew slowly until the texture is soft. This primes digestion via the parasympathetic system, reduces reflux, and stabilizes post-meal glucose swings that otherwise fuel irritability. – Gratitude walk: 10–15 minutes in natural light, morning or late afternoon. Name three specific things you appreciate with each footstep. Daylight anchors circadian rhythms for better sleep; gentle movement clears mental fog; gratitude shifts thought patterns toward coherence. – Early sleep ritual: Choose a consistent wind-down—dim lights, warm shower, light stretching, journal three wins, devices off 60–90 minutes before bed. Regular timing entrains melatonin release and supports glymphatic “brain washing,” improving memory and mood. – Short rest pauses between tasks: Every 50–60 minutes, stand, sip water mindfully, and gaze at a distant point for 60–90 seconds. This visual and postural reset reduces cognitive fatigue and prevents the stress cascade that accumulates across the day.
When you practice these small steps, you are training the Two Triangles daily—shaping thoughts, stabilizing energy, guiding compassionate action, and receiving results that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
Sai Baba often said, “Start the day with love; fill the day with love; end the day with love; that is the way to God.” May your health be the loving foundation on which every other pillar of your life stands strong.
