Dear reader, with warmth and respect I welcome you to this shared moment of healing and clarity.
I am Dr. Ravindranath G, Founder of SaiSankalpam.com, and I want to begin with a simple scene from my clinic: a young mother came to me with migraines, irritability, and rising blood pressure; as we worked not only on her medication and nutrition but also on breath, sleep, and a few minutes of daily quiet, her pain eased, her patience returned, and even her budgeting and study schedule stabilized—reminding me yet again that holistic health is not just about the body; it is the energetic foundation that supports every other pillar of life.
Here is how I guide my patients—and myself—through the Five Pillars of Success, all rooted in health: – Health: When vitality rises and the nervous system is balanced, the body self-regulates—muscle tension softens, inflammation lowers, and mind–body harmony becomes our baseline. – Relationships: A regulated nervous system breeds patience and empathy; when breath is calm and energy steady, we listen better, respond slower, and stay present longer. – Financial Wisdom: Lower stress restores clarity in the prefrontal cortex; disciplined choices, spending awareness, and consistent habits become natural rather than forced. – Knowledge: Focus, memory, and enthusiasm flourish when sleep, hydration, and blood sugar are stable; learning becomes a joyful flow rather than a battle. – Inner Peace: Stillness grows from simple practices—gentle breath, mindful pauses, and spiritual grounding—and then radiates outward into every action.
I teach the T.E.A.R. Formula through a health lens: – Thoughts: They regulate the nervous system; kind, realistic self-talk and cognitive reframing reduce cortisol and improve heart-rate variability. – Energy: This stabilizes emotions and physiology; steadier energy means steadier mood, digestion, and immunity. – Actions: With stable energy, actions become disciplined and compassionate; routines form with less willpower and more grace. – Results: Over time, results flower as well-being and spiritual growth—less pain, more joy, and a felt sense of purpose.
The Two Triangles make this visible: – Triangle 1: Thoughts → generate → Energy – Triangle 2: Energy → guides → Actions → creating → Results
These triangles shape: – Physical health: Calmer thoughts reduce stress chemistry, improving blood pressure, glucose control, and sleep architecture; consistent actions (meals, movement, medicine) yield durable results. – Emotional balance: A charged mind creates agitated energy; a clear mind creates balanced energy—so actions become kinder and mood steadier. – Spiritual depth: When energy (prana) is clear, the breath deepens, attention anchors, and meditation becomes genuinely transformative rather than merely mechanical.
To translate this into your day, here are simple, science-backed, soul-friendly practices I use and prescribe: – Breathing pause for nervous system reset: 3 minutes, 4-second inhale and 6-second exhale through the nose; extends exhalation to engage the vagus nerve, easing anxiety and pain. I suggest one pause mid-morning and one mid-afternoon. – Mindful meal practice: Sit, breathe for 30 seconds, then eat slowly (chew 15–20 times per bite) with screens off; this shifts you into “rest-and-digest,” improving nutrient absorption and stabilizing post-meal glucose. – Gratitude walk: 10–15 minutes of easy walking, naming three specific gratitudes in rhythm with your steps; bilateral movement calms the amygdala and gratitude enhances dopamine and serotonin—clarifying thought and softening mood. – Early sleep ritual: Power down bright screens 60–90 minutes before bed, warm light only, a warm shower, then two minutes of gentle breathing; melatonin rises naturally, heart rate drops, and deep sleep improves, which boosts memory and metabolism. – Hydration with awareness: On waking, drink 300–500 ml of water slowly, noticing the coolness and your breath; this supports blood volume, cognition, and morning bowel rhythm while planting the day’s first mindful action.
As I share these, I hold close a truth from Sathya Sai Baba that has guided much of my medical and spiritual work: “Health is wealth; peace of mind is happiness; yoga is the way.”
