Dear reader, I welcome you with a quiet joy and a healer’s heart as we sit together for a moment of honest reflection on your well-being.
In my clinic not long ago, I met a young entrepreneur—let me call her Meera—whose blood pressure was spiking, sleep was broken, and patience at home was wearing thin; as I, Dr. Ravindranath G — Founder of SaiSankalpam.com — listened, I sensed that the real issue wasn’t just her body, it was her drained energy from constant fight–or–flight, and when we focused first on calming her nervous system and restoring her vitality, everything else slowly fell into place: her blood pressure steadied, her conversations became kinder, her decisions at work grew clearer, and her evenings felt lighter. That day reaffirmed a truth I return to again and again—holistic health is not just about the body; it is the energetic foundation that supports every other pillar of life.
Here is how I teach it in practice, both as a physician and as a student of spirit:
Five pillars of success, anchored in health – Health: When vitality is steady and the mind–body is in harmony, inflammation and stress hormones settle, and emotional balance returns. You feel “available” to life. – Relationships: With a regulated nervous system, patience and empathy rise; you can be present instead of reactive. – Financial Wisdom: Lower physiological stress brings mental clarity and discipline; choices improve, and unnecessary spending driven by anxiety reduces. – Knowledge: Focus and memory sharpen when sleep, breath, and blood sugar are stable; learning feels joyful again. – Inner Peace: Stillness becomes accessible through breath and awareness; spiritual grounding is felt, not forced.
T.E.A.R. — the health lens – Thoughts: How you think signals safety or threat to the nervous system. Calm, truthful thoughts nudge the vagus nerve, easing heart rate, breath, and digestion. – Energy: When the nervous system is soothed, your bioelectric “charge” stabilizes—mood evens out, hormones balance, and recovery improves. – Actions: From stable energy, routines become disciplined yet compassionate—consistent meals, movement, sleep, and kinder words. – Results: Consistency produces well-being and, over time, spiritual growth—a quieter mind, a warmer heart, a clearer purpose.
Two triangles that shape your life – Triangle 1: Thoughts → generate → Energy – Triangle 2: Energy → guides → Actions → creating → Results
How these triangles work in you: – Physical health: Supportive thoughts reduce sympathetic overdrive, your energy steadies, and you naturally choose actions like mindful eating and regular sleep—results show up as better blood pressure, digestion, and immune resilience. – Emotional balance: Calmer thoughts stabilize energy; from there, you pause before reacting, communicate gently, and repair ruptures—results are trust and connection. – Spiritual depth: Loving, truthful thoughts kindle sattvic energy; your actions incline toward service and stillness—results are devotion, gratitude, and an inner smile.
Sathya Sai Baba reminds us, “Health is wealth.” When we guard our energy, we protect not just the body but our capacity to love, learn, serve, and lead.
Practical daily health techniques I use with patients and in my own life – Breathing pause (nervous system reset): Three minutes, 6 breaths per minute (inhale 4–5 seconds, exhale 5–6 seconds). The longer exhale gently activates the vagus nerve, improving heart-rate variability and quieting stress chemistry. I suggest doing this before difficult calls, meetings, or family conversations. – Mindful meal practice: Before the first bite, place a hand on the belly, take three slow breaths, and notice the aroma. Chew until texture softens. This “rest-and-digest” signal improves glucose response, reduces reflux, and enhances satiety hormones—patients often snack less without trying. – Gratitude walk (sunlight + mood): Ten minutes of morning light while mentally naming three things you appreciate. Sunlight entrains circadian rhythms (better sleep at night), lifts serotonin, and the gratitude frame reduces amygdala reactivity—science and spirit walking hand in hand. – Early sleep ritual: Aim to dim lights one hour before bed, keep devices away, and keep a consistent sleep window. This supports melatonin release, memory consolidation, and glymphatic “brain wash”—and in my experience, it restores patience and creativity by morning. – Hydration with awareness: Begin your day with a glass of water, add a pinch of mineral salt or a squeeze of lemon if suitable, and sip through the day. Adequate fluids support blood volume, cognition, and steady energy; pausing to sip is also a micro-meditation.
When you forget, return to the triangles: tend to your Thoughts to uplift Energy; let steady Energy guide compassionate Actions; let consistent Actions create the Results you seek—in body, heart, home, work, and prayer. As your energy stabilizes, you will notice that success in relationships, finances, learning, and peace is not forced; it flows.
Sathya Sai Baba’s guidance lights the path: “Love all, serve all. Help ever, hurt never.” May your health become the gentle power that makes this teaching your lived reality.
